4th of July Post-Show

1, 2, 3, 4, 5! We made it, with all of our fingers and toes! We barely survived the 4th of July fireworks, heavy chlorine exposure, and diet killing BBQ's. The holiday hangover is real, and I don't even drink! 4th of July Pre-Show

Happy 3rd of July! The Beta Report is celebrating America by trying something a little different this week. We're gonna commemorate 'Merica by giving you TWO EPISODES IN ONE WEEK! What's more American than "Two for the Price of ONE"? The episodes will be 30 minutes long, perfect for your daily commutes on the Oregon Trail or if you're simply giving your pet Bald Eagle a bath. These bite-sized episodes are here to feed your podcast hunger like a fresh basket of Freedom Fries. They'll be up every Tuesday and Thursday, unless, Toddlers...You guys already know.

The KON Decrees: Jurassic World 2 & Luke Cage 2 Reviews

Never has a King done more for his people than our very own King of the Nerds. In no place in time has a royal put in as many hours in sheer consumption of entertainment to ensure that his subjects are safe from boring, ill advised, or just flat out terrible shows or movies than The KON. From Netflix to Hulu, and TV to the theater, our sovereign Nerd has the answers to all of your geeky questions. This week, The KON decrees his reviews on two highly anticipated premieres: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom & Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2. He talks about the good, the bad, and the bland...are Marvel's Netflix shows getting a little, stale? Click the play button and find out.

Pixar Movies Make Me Cry

I think we can all relate with the title. For years, Pixar has figured out new and exciting ways to make us cry...and we love it! Whether its 30 minutes of robots lovingly musing and not speaking a word, introducing a couple's love and heartbreak in the first 10 minutes of a film, or allowing us to share one final emotional moment with our favorite toys. If Pixar movies don't make you feel a certain way by the end of each movie...you might want to check your pulse! So, with The Incredibles 2 shattering records and taking hold of the box office's top spot, The Beta Bros, The KON and Jay, offer up their 5 favorite Pixar movies. The results might make you un poco loco. They also offer up their 5 LEAST favorite Pixar movies, which was actually harder to do than expected. 

They also have a brand new TOP 5 box office list with a brief Incredibles 2 review by Jay, a brand new bullet proof choice in this week's STREAM COME TRUE, and a new savage PICK OF THE WEEK comes roaring through. All that and so much more, on this week's episode of The Beta Report. 

The Incredibles are Better Than The Avengers...

Never mind the clickbait title, I think there is some truth to this. In one corner, there is a family of heroes that waited 14 years to release a sequel. In the other, we have a team of heroes who became a family, that spent 10 years doing nothing but releasing sequels. And, though we've grown up with both groups, there is a certain fondness for The Incredibles that is nestled deep in my Pixar loving heart. Knowing what Toy Story 3 was able to emotionally pull from me, I can already tell that The Incredibles can, and undoubtedly will, do the same. So, can The Incredibles be better films than The Avengers movies? Listen to find out! 

So, on today's show, we dive into this week's GO/NO GO, which of course is: The Incredibles 2. Is SOLO a Flop? TBR's SOLO Review [SPOILERS]

SOLO has smuggled its way into theaters and lets just say, people are having a bad feeling about this. There's been a lot of nerd rage surrounding this film and the visceral reaction by the Star Wars community has never been more hostile. But, is SOLO: A Star Wars Story really as bad as people are making it out to be? Is SOLO not worth watching? Is SOLO: A Star Wars Story truly a flop? 

This week, The Beta Bros send Uno off on his Money Heist vacation as he hustles his way through the mean streets of Spain. So, while he's gone, the KON and Jay are here to cut through the nerd noise and give you guys a spoiler filled review of SOLO. Ready Player Won: TBR Got it Wrong

Ready Player One, you did it! With the exception of the KON, who had all of the faith in the world for this movie, Jay and Uno both had their reservations. Well, we're glad to admit that WE WERE WRONG. Ready Player One was a great movie and we'll be diving into what we loved, what we wished we would have seen more of, and what we got totally wrong.

We also talk about Magnus Manheart and how it evolved from a father's promise, to a 250 page story, to his future plans of making this the next great book-to-film-adaptation since Harry Potter.

Infinity War Trailer: Who Will Die?

The Oscars 2018

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the 90th Academy Awards...BETA REPORT REACTION! We've got a star studded evening for you filled with Hollywood's greatest stars including The KON who we all know from his groundbreaking performance as a pseudo-royal-genius who manages to rally an entire country behind his knowledge of nerdy things. We'll also have a special performance by the enigmatic but always spectacular, UNO doing a heartfelt rendition of "Hey Hey Hey (Goodbye)". Finally, we have Jay, the minuscule man who has adapted his miraculous story as a forever five year old in his eloquently documented blogs.

So, we have a great evening filled with the TOP 5 movies at the Box Office, another edition of Go/No Go and a Stream Come True, plus much much more. It's going to be a fantastic night filled with many great moments, in what will undoubtedly be a night to remember among the stars. 

Magic March

Come close. Closer...and look into our magic balls. Three of them in fact, as the Kon, Uno and Jay take you on a mystical journey through the lands of Magic March. Let us bewitch you with our March movie preview as the boy's breakdown the upcoming movies we think will be the standouts of this pretty stacked month. Take heed as well, as a tempestuous wind of reboots and remakes may come crashing down upon us in the near future. Stare at the glimmering, glistening, gleaming shine of our magic balls and wait and see if films like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Scarface, The Crow, The NeverEnding Story, or Short Circuit should get a Reboot or, simply, just get The Boot!
