What is one thing that characterizes the entire month of March: MADNESS. With The KON’s birthday, the release of Jordan Peele’s US and College Basketball’s most important tournament, the world is consumed with madness. In today’s episode, we’ll take a look at the new horror classic US to give you guy’s a little preview of the movie and what you should expect. We also talk a little basketball and rank our favorite basketball movies of all time. Is Space Jam really a basketball classic? Is Teen Wolf actually a basketball movie? Punishing the Glass

No, this isn’t the Beta Report’s new NBA-centric podcast about great rebounders in NBA history. It’s just a clever title. Although, that would be a pretty great idea. File away for later (Patent Pending)…This is however one of those moments where the universe just aligns things for you perfectly and you have no choice but to bring it to light: Punisher+Glass=Jigsaw…this stuff writes itself!

Anyway, on today’s episode the Beta Boy’s preview two of their most anticipated releases of 2019: The Punisher Season 2 and M. Night Shyamalan’s GLASS! There are a lot of things on the line for these two releases, like is M. Night Shyamalan’s resurgence for real or is he destined to fall back into mediocrity? And, is The Punisher the next Marvel Netflix show in the cancellation cross-hairs no matter how great it is? We answer all of these questions and give our thoughts regarding the poor reviews and terrible Rotten Tomatoes score GLASS has right now…35%!!! YIKES.

Happy 3rd of July! The Beta Report is celebrating America by trying something a little different this week. We're gonna commemorate 'Merica by giving you TWO EPISODES IN ONE WEEK! What's more American than "Two for the Price of ONE"? The episodes will be 30 minutes long, perfect for your daily commutes on the Oregon Trail or if you're simply giving your pet Bald Eagle a bath. These bite-sized episodes are here to feed your podcast hunger like a fresh basket of Freedom Fries. They'll be up every Tuesday and Thursday, unless, Toddlers...You guys already know.

Magic March

Let us bewitch you with our March movie preview as the boy's breakdown the upcoming movies we think will be the standouts of this pretty stacked month. Take heed as well, as a tempestuous wind of reboots and remakes may come crashing down upon us in the near future. Stare at the glimmering, glistening, gleaming shine of our magic balls and wait and see if films like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Scarface, The Crow, The NeverEnding Story, or Short Circuit should get a Reboot or, simply, just get The Boot!

Black Lightning & Pun Man Save the Day

When you're struck with a jolt of fear and the thunderous charge of danger is shockingly near. Worry not, as the electrifying duo of Black Lightning and Pun Man are here to light your darkest nights! Okay, that is about as punny as I can get without throwing up. But, this is our show in a nutshell. We review the CW's brand new super hero show Black Lightning's first episode. Are the characters compelling? Is the villain a real threat? Is this show Beta Approved? You'll have to listen to find out. 

And, as the CW universe of DC characters continues to expand, we discuss what movie or TV universe we'd most like to live in. Would Uno like to live in the MCU to assume his secret super hero identity: Pun Man? Would the Kon want to meet the alternate Khan in the Star Trek Universe? Am I going to Never-land so that I can really be Forever Five?!? You'll just have to listen to find out.

Los Doyers! World Series Special w/MLB Expert

As you guys know, we are native sons of Los Angeles, CA. So, seeing our Dodgers make it to the World Series after a 28 year drought, is a kind of a big deal. Now, because of this historic run, we just had to do a baseball-centric show to discuss our Dodgers as well as some classic baseball movies to get us in the right World Series spirit. AND...we've brought on our own MLB Expert, Chef Extraordinaire and previous guest, the ever so lovely: Jocelyne Zelaya to help us analyze and predict the Dodgers vs. Astros match-up. 

Aside from being a baseball fan and expert, as we mentioned above, Jocelyne is also an incredible and talented chef and we talk once again about her culinary career and the shows and chefs that inspire her to do what she does. Star Wars Trailer Reaction

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (REVIEW)

It's Episode 91! Manners. Maketh. Man. In 2014, no one knew what Kingsman was and, quite frankly, I don't think anyone could have anticipated what a hit it would become. This sleek, uber-stylized, mega violent and unabashedly over-the-top-action-romp steamrolled through theaters and became one of the best modern spy movies we've ever seen. So, in not-so-beta-report-fashion, The Beta Bros actually went to see Kingsman: The Golden Circle in theaters this weekend. This is our full (NON-SPOILER) review of the film.

This week, we discuss the return of JJ Abrams to the Star Wars Universe as its being reported that he has now been hired to write and direct Episode IX after Colin Trevorrow's firing. We also talk Narcos: Season 3, Little Evil, and Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water, which we unfortunately missed in our last episode "Fall Preview (Movies)".

FALL PREVIEW (MOVIES)

It's Episode 89! It's a sad day here at The Beta Report HQ as we say goodbye to Game of Thrones Season 7, and even more devastating...we bid farewell to the beloved (mostly by us) "Game of Bros" segment! Nevertheless, we unsheathe our gallant words one last time this year and breakdown the season finale of GoT: "The Dragon and the Wolf". But, beware...SPOILERS are gnawing and clawing like the army of the dead in this episode. So, again, beware and proceed with caution.

We also breakdown some of our most anticipated movies of the Fall. With some obvious choices like IT, Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, to some not so obvious picks like Jackie Chan's The Foreigner and...Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle?

The Defenders Review (Plus GoB)

It's Episode 86! The Defenders is finally here! For what felt like ages, Marvel has finally released its Netflix heroes' team-up adventure series and we've seen the whole thing. We got our SPOILER FREE REVIEW as well as our thoughts on the question everyone seems to be asking...is Iron Fist/Danny Rand better here than in his own series? We answer that and a few other questions regarding some of the show's other heroes, villains, and their futures in the NMCU (Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe). 

Plus, we have another entry in the ongoing Game of Bros (GoB) segment, as Game of Thrones continues to march past the threshold of awesomeness with another great episode. This week we dissect Episode 6, "Beyond the Wall" as The Magnificent 7 aka The Suicide Squad aka The Westeros Avengers, go wight hunting in the snow. Zombie polar bears, flaming swords, Tormund and The Hound talking about Brienne...this episode has it all! Game of Bros

It's Episode 85! On today's episode, The Beta Bros take on Season 7 of Game of Thrones. We react to episode 5 "Eastwatch", the benefits of this season's faster pace and whether there is too much fan service going on as we commence to wind the series down.
