As we hit a bit of a lull in theaters as far as new releases and though Netflix and other streaming services are now flooded with great content, figuring out what to watch has gotten harder and harder to do. Well, don't fret! The Beta Report has your golden ticket to a perfect entertainment filled weekend!

Avengers: Infinity War Preview

Its finally here! By the time this episode posts, we'll be three days away from Avengers: Infinity War, and with so many questions still swirling around, like: What is The Black Order? Which character will die? Where are all of the Infinity Stones? Despite our recommendations to stay away, The Rock still came out victorious at the box office this week. Rampage took the number one spot, beating out A Quiet Place, Truth or Dare, Ready Player One and Blockers. But, with all of his success, can The Rock actually be the new flop king? But, as Marvel and the rise of comic book movies have sort of monopolized over the box office, which one actor could be the next Box Office Champ? Well, The Beta Report throws down in the ring and drop kicks each other's choices until one contender is left standing!

Ready Player Won: TBR Got it Wrong

Ready Player One, you did it! With the exception of the KON, who had all of the faith in the world for this movie, Jay and Uno both had their reservations. Well, we're glad to admit that WE WERE WRONG. Ready Player One was a great movie and we'll be diving into what we loved, what we wished we would have seen more of, and what we got totally wrong.

Special guest Jorge Valdes sits down with us to talk about his first Young Adult Novel Series, Magnus Manheart: The 5 Staffs of Justice. Jorge takes us into his fantasy world and discusses his creative process, the current state of the book, the series, and how his daughter was the motivation behind it all. We also talk about Magnus Manheart and how it evolved from a father's promise, to a 250 page story, to his future plans of making this the next great book-to-film-adaptation since Harry Potter.

Infinity War Trailer: Who Will Die?

Over the last ten years, Marvel Studios has carefully crafted and produced an unstoppable Universe that continues to expand and dominate the entertainment world. We all know and love our Marvel heroes. Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, the Hulk...But, has anyone ever heard of Russell Sprouts & Copeye?!?! No! Because this is the birth of new characters from a new Cinematic Universe. One that will destroy the DCEU. One that will Completely overtake the MCU. One Universe that will stand alone when the dust has settled: THE CLIMACTIC UNO CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (CUCU)!

The Oscars 2018

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the 90th Academy Awards...BETA REPORT REACTION! We've got a star studded evening for you filled with Hollywood's greatest stars including The KON who we all know from his groundbreaking performance as a pseudo-royal-genius who manages to rally an entire country behind his knowledge of nerdy things. We'll also have a special performance by the enigmatic but always spectacular, UNO doing a heartfelt rendition of "Hey Hey Hey (Goodbye)". Finally, we have Jay, the minuscule man who has adapted his miraculous story as a forever five year old in his eloquently documented blogs.

So, we have a great evening filled with the TOP 5 movies at the Box Office, another edition of Go/No Go and a Stream Come True, plus much much more. It's going to be a fantastic night filled with many great moments, in what will undoubtedly be a night to remember among the stars. 

Magic March

Come close. Closer...and look into our magic balls. Three of them in fact, as the Kon, Uno and Jay take you on a mystical journey through the lands of Magic March. Let us bewitch you with our March movie preview as the boy's breakdown the upcoming movies we think will be the standouts of this pretty stacked month. Take heed as well, as a tempestuous wind of reboots and remakes may come crashing down upon us in the near future. Stare at the glimmering, glistening, gleaming shine of our magic balls and wait and see if films like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Scarface, The Crow, The NeverEnding Story, or Short Circuit should get a Reboot or, simply, just get The Boot!

Black Panther Review W/Riel Phillips

First and foremost, WAKANDA FOREVER! Okay, now that I've got that out of my system, WAKANDA FOREVER!!! Black Lightning & Pun Man Save the Day

When you're struck with a jolt of fear and the thunderous charge of danger is shockingly near. Worry not, as the electrifying duo of Black Lightning and Pun Man are here to light your darkest nights! Okay, that is about as punny as I can get without throwing up. But, this is our show in a nutshell. We review the CW's brand new super hero show Black Lightning's first episode. Are the characters compelling? Is the villain a real threat? Is this show Beta Approved? You'll have to listen to find out. 

And, as the CW universe of DC characters continues to expand, we discuss what movie or TV universe we'd most like to live in. Would Uno like to live in the MCU to assume his secret super hero identity: Pun Man? Would the Kon want to meet the alternate Khan in the Star Trek Universe? Am I going to Never-land so that I can really be Forever Five?!? You'll just have to listen to find out.

TV Time: 2018 Preview

The box. Telly. Small screen. The tube. The boob-tube. TV. Television. We all have one. Or two, or three. We even carry one in our pocket now! The way we consume TV shows today, has changed dramatically in the last couple of years. With streaming services, cable channel apps, and video-sharing websites all providing access to what we could only get at a certain time in one particular place, has now opened up a world of opportunities to mind-numbingly binge every TV show that is out there. But, with all those possibilities now available to us, it might be hard to figure out what to watch, when to watch, and where to watch some of the new and returning shows in 2018. That’s where we come in. The Beta Report has done all your homework for you. They don’t call one of us the King of The Nerds for nothing. In today’s episode, we highlight some of the best brand new shows coming out this year and we also look at some of our favorite returning shows like Jessica Jones, The Handmaid’s Tale and Atlanta.

2017: In Review

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a fun and safe holiday season with friends and family. Now, its our turn to celebrate with you as we look forward to kicking off the new year with a brand new show! But, before we dive head first into the new year, we want to look back at what 2017 had to offer.

Last year was such a great year in entertainment. From Logan to Wonder Woman, COCO to Get Out, Mindhunter to The Punisher, we had one of, if not, THE BEST year for movies and TV shows EVER. While some of you might consider that a bit of an exaggeration, its hard to deny that 2017 was, at the very least, one of the greatest years for comic book movies and TV shows we've ever had! Just look at this list: Wonder Woman, Logan, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel's The Punisher on Netflix, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, The Gifted, Thor: Ragnarok, Legion, Justice League, etc. And that's just the comic book related stuff. The list can go on and on if we consider the other greats (cough cough...STAR WARS, Stranger Things: Season 2, IT...cough cough).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review (SPOILER)

The Beta Bros have seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi and they couldn't wait to talk about it! So, they went straight from the theater to the TBR HQ and laid down this spoiler filled review. From who are Rey's parents, to Reylo,  and the adorable Progs, The Beta Bros cover everything in this movie in ridiculous overstated enthusiasm. So, strap in and get ready to blast off to a galaxy far, far away in this all Star Wars episode!

This might be our last episode of the year. So, if we don't get to post another episode in 2017, we wish you all a very happy holiday season and an amazing New Year! 

Star Wars: TLJ Episode

It time for The Beta Bros...to end...So that THE BETA REPORT can finally return to full strength. That's right people, Uno, like exiled Luke, has felt the Force calling to him from a distance, and is now back! And, what better time to return, as we focus our force powers to try and tackle what will surely be one of the best movies of the year. That's right, this is our Star Wars: The Last Jedi Episode. But, that's not all. We also have our favorite art director, toy maker, Cudahy shaker and all around dope dude, Carlos Mendoza on today's episode too.
